The lack of reliable and useful quality measures for mental and behavioral health services  is a barrier for child behavioral health providers striving to demonstrate the value of their services . The Child Health Toolbox begins to fill this gap through a review of two national mental health initiatives that target or include children’s mental health needs.

The Toolbox contains concepts, tips, and tools for evaluating the quality of health care for children.  Tools of special interest to behavioral health providers are the Young Adult Health Care Survey (YAHCS)  and Promoting Health Development Survey (PHDS).
